Hoover Upright Vacuum Combatting Dyson

Vacuum cleaners have been around for well over 150 years but it took until 1907 for the first recognizable electric vacuum cleaner that was portable to be patented in Ohio, USA by a janitor, James Spangler, after he added a fan and suction pump to a sweeper he used in his daily work..One of the first to sit up and take notice was William Hoover, a relative of Spangler who bought the patent and then developed the idea alongside Spangler, in the process, sparking a revolution in household cleaning.
In 1908, the first bag on a stick Hoover upright vacuum cleaner was patented and introduced to a sceptical world and not unusually, failed to set the world alight. Desperate for sales, Hoover hit on an idea that would change their fortunes forever. So confident was he of the cleaners ability that they advertised a free ten day home trial to anyone and the response was instant.
For the last hundred years, Hoover has been the vacuum cleaner of choice for most of the English speaking world. So much so that in Britain, where the Hoover upright vacuum has been made since 1919, any one who is vacuuming anything is said to be 'hoovering'.
The basic concept of the vacuum cleaner really stayed the same from those early days with a dust collection bag right up until 1993 when Dyson revolutionized the cleaner by producing a dual cyclone cleaner that required no bag. A true story of the backyard inventor made good. This new kid on the block was an instant hit, a little pricey for many households but then you didn't have to keep buying new collection bags as you filled them up, and perhaps more importantly it showed the other vacuum companies, including Hoover that they had to raise their game.
The Hoover upright vacuum stable has recently been expanded to include both bagged and bagless models in their Wind Tunnel Range, some models are also self-propelled so no pushing. And to compete with Dyson, Hoover also now have a cyclone cleaner, giving all the cleaning power but not the cost. Further to maintain their position as the providers of vacuum cleaners to the masses, Hoover also produces the Widepath Tempo cleaner which has a recommended retail price of under $100.
You know if you or anyone in your family suffers from allergies that a vacuum fitted with HEPA filters is the way forward. A cleaner with a HEPA filtration capacity is the answer to allergens. If you want to eradicate pollen, pet allergies and mites and dust from your home, a HEPA filtered Hoover upright vacuum does all this.
Hoover upright vacuum cleaners are now right back up there at the top of most peoples wish list because of their quality, practicality and value for money.
