There are a number of steps that you must take in order to create your own custom military ring and they may vary depending on the company that you choose to use to do the work. Many different places will offer you many different options but the steps that we will give you in this article are pretty much universal.
The first thing that you must do is to choose a style that you like. I suggest that if you can physically place the ring on your finger that you do so. That way you get a real look at it and you can make a better determination. You can also choose the type of metal that you like at this time. Once again look at the metal while you are wearing the ring and decide. Most people will know before hand what they want to wear and this is fine.
Stone color, and style are dominant features of your ring. Generally you will have to choose one of 12 to 14 different stone colors. Most people prefer to wear their birth stone. However don't let this be a limiting factor. You will also want to choose a design to go inside of the stone at this time. When you choose the design keep in mind that everyone who sees your ring will see the design first. It may be a good practice to place the thing that you want people to notice most here.
Now while we are working on the top of the ring choose the words that you want to go around the top of your ring. These will be one of the first things that people will see so choose accordingly.
Now its time to work on the sides of your ring. The two side designs are called side panel designs. They are the designs that people will see after they have began to notice the ring so they can be your conversation pieces. Most people will put one or more of the unit designs here that they have served in. Some will put their most recent campaign design here. Whatever you decide to do here will be right so don't worry about the choice that you have made.
Now you have the writing above the side panels. You can use the writing above each side to tell the story of the design on that side or you can use it to add another detail that you would not otherwise be able to add. You will only be able to get 8 to 10 letters or numbers on each line but you should be able to put 2 lines of information on each side.
Your last option is the engraving that will go inside of the ring. There are a certain number of spaces that you can use for this Most times the buyer will put his or her name here but if the ring is a gift the giver will normally use this space for a personal message.
I like to tell my customers to take their time and think carefully about what they want their ring to say. Once they have decided what they want to do I will guide them through the process. The end result is always a military ring that the customer is proud of. A happy customer is a pleasant sight to see.
